Seaside recycling
A community partnership to recycle cans, paper and glass from three rural parishes via a doorstep collection; to improve the quality of life in these rural areas by reducing the amount of litter, reducing the amount of rubbish taken to landfill, and instilling a sense of community spirit.

Charing Library Rural IT Hub
To develop a Rural IT Hub to provide a focus for IT based learning, with a particular focus on the over 50s and young people. There will be wider benefits in relation to quality of life of both target groups and the wider population through the development of the library as a community focus.

Give IT a Go
Through the use of mobile training suites with Internet access and standalone laptop computers, ICT awareness will be developed across a number of specific rural areas where the access to and use of computers is low. ICT volunteer Buddies were identified and trained to promote and support learners. The two year project took account of the need to identify and train the first section of volunteers plus the early adopters for the training, and to allow for a second tranche of learners who will be given confidence and aspiration from the first groups.

Recycling Training and Organic Products Development Programme
To deliver training and operational assistance to rural businesses on composting and waste wood recycling activities. The purpose of the programme is to take rural businesses stage by stage through organic waste project development, from gaining the know-how through to producing new compost and waste wood products.

WyeCycle
This is a trial project aimed at finding a sustainable solution to the problem of furniture disposal. Over a 12-month period the project will investigate the viability of adding value to used furniture and electrical items through: Refurbishment and re-sale. Dismantling unsold items into component parts and either selling these components for re-use or disposing of them in a sustainable manner.
Items will be collected from households in the parishes of Wye and Brook.

REAP
The Kent Energy Centre (KEC) is working in partnership with the Kent Downs AONB Unit on a project to facilitate the development of alternative, sustainable fuel sources. The project is running from September 2006 until July 2007 and aims to assist residents, communities and businesses in the Kent Downs AONB in selecting the relevant technologies to suit their energy requirements and location.

Kent Play Club
To benefit specific rural communities by establishing 4 community managed after school clubs, and holiday schemes in each one. This will enable parents to extend their working hours, take up training opportunities, and reach a better work/life balance. The project will help create local jobs and support local business by releasing and supporting a local workforce. Families on low income and lone parent families will benefit from Working Families Childcare Credits when using the facilities. The project will also provide an invaluable social resource for the children and young people in the communities tackling social isolation and poor provision of resources for young people and children.

Farmer's Market:
A study to identify the most effective way for Produced in Kent to facilitate the development and co-ordination of Farmers’ Markets in the Kent farming and food industry. This will ultimately strengthen and develop an effective and consistent supply chain for local produce in the area.
Local Procurement Study:
A pilot scheme to study the feasibility for local suppliers to tender on equal terms with larger organisations with particular reference to Local Authority school meals services.
Kent Wine Trail:
A production of a self-guided wine trail of the Kentish vineyards and the development of a Mid-Kent wine producers network.
Other Trails:
Update, reprint and create interactive pdfs for the three original Leader+ trail leaflets Sheep Ahoy!, Apple Source and Hops & Downs.
